  • Upper Division Clerk: Pay Level - 9 [Rs.28,900/- – 74,500/-]
  • Lower Division Clerk: Pay Level - 6 [Rs.22,700/- – 58,500/-]
  • Seal Bailiff: Pay Level - 6 [Rs.22,700/- – 58,500/-]
  • Process Server: Pay Level - 5 [Rs.21,000/- – 54,000/-]
  • Group D (Peon/Night-Guard/Farash): Pay Level - 1 [Rs.17,000 – 43,600/-]

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

Not less than 18 years and not more than 40 years as on 01.01.2024 for all categories of posts.

Relaxation of age limit for five years in case of candidates belonging to SC & ST Category and three years in case of OBC(A) & OBC(B) category is permissible. The upper age limit in case of Person with Disability is 45 years. Relaxation of age limit in case of Ex-serviceman category is as per existing Government Rules.

Essential Qualification

  • Upper Division Clerk: Graduate from a recognized university with proficiency in the use of computer and a Certificate in Computer Training from a recognized institution.
  • Lower Division Clerk and Seal Bailiff: Madhyamik or equivalent examination from any recognized Board and a Certificate in Computer Training from a recognized institution.
  • Process Server and Group-D: Passed Class-VIII from any recognized School or recognized Madrasa or any other recognized equivalent Institution.

Mode of Examination

Upper Division Clerk

  • Phase-I: 100 marks, 50 Multiple Choice Questions (General English, General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude). Duration: 60 minutes. 1 mark deducted for each wrong answer.
  • Phase-II: Computer Proficiency, Work Management & Writing Skill (100 marks). Duration: 2 hours.
  • Phase-III: Personality Test (40 marks).

Lower Division Clerk and Seal Bailiff

  • Written Examination: 100 marks, 50 Multiple Choice Questions (Simple Arithmetic, English, Bengali, General Knowledge). Duration: 60 minutes. 1 mark deducted for each wrong answer.
  • Personality Test: 20 marks.

Process Server and Group-D

  • Written Examination: 100 marks, 50 Multiple Choice Questions (Simple Arithmetic, English, Bengali, General Knowledge). Duration: 60 minutes. 1 mark deducted for each wrong answer.
  • Personality Test: 20 marks.

Important Information

  • The District Recruitment Committee shall have the discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or all of the tests for different categories of posts and to relax such marks in respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, OBC(A) & OBC(B), E.C., if deemed necessary.
  • The benefits of reservation of vacancies and age concession for SC, ST & OBC candidates are admissible to SC, ST & OBC candidates of West Bengal only.
  • SC/ST/OBC candidates belonging to States other than West Bengal will be treated as General Candidates.
  • No claim for being a member of SC, ST, OBC, or other reserved categories will be entertained any time after submission of the application.
  • Facilities of scribe/reader shall be provided to eligible candidates.
  • Specific documents are required for claiming reservation benefits.
  • Candidates already in service under Government/Public Sector Undertakings must apply through the proper channel with a 'No Objection' Certificate.
